"The Angry Birds Movie 2" is set to hit Chinese mainland theaters Friday.

"Angry Birds" made its debut¹ on May 20, 2016 on the Chinese mainland where it grossed 514 million yuan (nearly 73 million U.S. dollars).
 
In the first film, the main character Red (voiced by Jason Sudeikis) started off as an angry bird, an outcast on Bird Island. But then, Red's courage led the birds to victory in their battle with the pigs.
 
Birds and pigs reunite to fight before their islands are destroyed. They seek the help of Garry (played by Sterling² K. Brown) who provides all of Pig Island's high-tech³ solutions.
 
Brown's best known for "This is Us," and last year's "Black Panther".

Meanwhile, the Hatchlings (the young baby birds) do a lot of role-playing-games. They wear cut-out masks of their favorite bird or pig and create various adventures.
 
"The Angry Birds Movie 2" flies into U.S. cinemas tomorrow.
